withinland navigates extractive methods of understanding and dissecting land. In the production of the work, I accessed public topographic data of a site near Boulder, Colorado which is being developed for residential purposes. I generated a 3D model of the land and sliced it at points of human-made boundaries such as roads, trails, and fences. This model was then CNC milled out of OSB composite and erected on scaffolds allowing the viewer to move through the work. Through the use of commercial materials used in residential construction, I explore the circularity of what we take from and return to land in another form.
