Idle Hands
2022, fabric, batting, 38”x22”x26”
This work explores lifestyle marketing which placates a natural longing for connection with ecology. It considers the potential of a mind to critically engage with concepts that might combat climate crisis but is contented to simply engage with land in a domesticated and artificial capacity. This is especially pervasive in more conservative circles, like those of my youth, where women have been traditionally encouraged to busy themselves curating a comfortable domestic space.
