Omen
2022, duvet cover, batting, hook, 48”x29”x7”
A foreshadowing of desperation to come, this work considers the indulgence of our past and present as represented in the comfortable materiality of our domestic spaces. A duvet cover, cut apart and reconstructed in the form of a deflated fish head, hangs as a warning sign of the predation that will soon make its way into the privacy of our homes. Our reckless consumption damning us to a future of preying on one another over the dwindling resources we have not yet squandered.
