Slant Upward
2023, felt, 34"x16"x6"
Slant Upward is a soft assertion of structure—a vertebral gesture rising despite its tenderness. Composed entirely of felt, its body is sewn into a tension between collapse and lift, asking how softness might bear weight. The form echoes remnants: fossil, carcass, seedpod—an ambiguous anatomy reaching toward something it no longer remembers. It holds itself aloft through its own insistence, a quiet defiance of gravity and decay. This is resilience rendered in textile, where vulnerability becomes the architecture.
